Lytchett vs Oaks (Dorset & Wilts Cup Quater Final) 9/11/07

On Sunday the U15's entertained Lytchett Minster in the Quarter Final of the Dorset and Wilts Cup. It was the case of the Lytchett 'men' v's the Acorns who turned into mighty oak trees by the end of the match.

The boys cme flying out of the gate and for the first twenty minutes our forwards dominated the game giving no inch as we scored three tries by Craig, Jack and Gavin, by great team work. Tommy came close with the conversions, but tied his game up when he scored the fourth try. Half time came with us leading 20-0.

The second half started and we let Lytchett back into the game, being encamped in our 22. Due to an error by the referee they scored a try? whilst they duly converted, but spurred on by their spectators the boys regrouped and although we did not score again we won the game 20-7.

A magnificent display by the boys to eliminate the day that Lytchett became men and by our lads becoming mighty oak trees! (Look at Lytchett's website if you don't know about them becoming men).

Players of the match as chosen by their coaching staff were back Joe Bradford (who is starting to boss the game as a scrum half should) and Hovis in the forwards. Tackles of the match were Alex Shearsmith and Mike Barrett.

All the players played with conviction and dedication, we are in the Semi Final's, but even though our opponents are not known we will have to raise our game again to progress further and gets Twizz's hair off!
