Oakmeadians ladies rugby team are a Bournemouth based club who play in Championship South West 2.
The team finished second in the league for the 2008/09 season- their best result to date!
Based at Meyrick Park near Bournemouth Town Centre, the women’s rugby team train on Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm. Matches are played on Sundays. The team is coached by John Ackerman who is a very experienced coach, having coached the Royal Navy, and is a huge asset to the team.
In 2009 the ladies had a good run in the 7s and 10s circuit having been joined by a specialist 7s coach Brendan. They put in some great performances at Bournemouth, Bath and Newquay 7s, came runners up in Nottingham 7s and won Nuneaton 10s.
The ladies have big hopes for this season and always welcome new faces at training whether a newbie wanting to have a go or an experienced player, everyone is welcome!
