Oakmeadians RFC Says Farewell to Tom Drewett & Welcomes New Head Coach Crispin Cormack

Oakmeadians RFC are pleased to announce the appointment Crispin Cormack to the post of Head Coach for the 2012/13 season

Crispin succeeds Tom Drewett who has successfully steered the club through a difficult transition molding a very young group of players into a close knit squad. Tom brought many talents to the role over the last two years, teaching the players valuable new skills and building the foundations of a solid squad which will allow the club to grow.

Oakmeadians Chairman, Andy Walton, said ‘We would like to thank Tom for the help and support that he has given the club during his time with us. We have been very honoured to have him as our Head Coach and we wish him luck in the future”. Andy continued “We are pleased to be able to offer Crispin the role of Head Coach, he has been with the club for two years as our Back’s Coach and has supported Tom in the day to day management of the team”. “It is very important that clubs at our level ensure that they have coherent succession planning in place to ensure a successful transition and with Tom’s help Crispin has afforded us that opportunity”.

Cormack has had a packed playing career, starting his adult game at London Welsh while studying Law in London he then moved to Cardiff Harlequins and on to Pontypridd RFC, playing in the Heineken Cup. In 1996, Crispin toured to Australia with Wales playing 5 games and finishing top try scorer. He achieved a level 3 coaching qualification in 2007, coaching the Cardiff Blues Development squad before taking the role of Head Coach at Cardiff Harlequins.

Crispin moved to Poole in December 2010 to take a job with Coles Miller Solicitors as a Legal Executive dealing primarily with Personal Injury.

Due to the weather and frozen pitches this weekends 1st and 2nd XV home fixtures and the sponsors meal have been cancelled with the 1st XV fixture and sponsors meal being rescheduled for next weekend.

However the 6 nations coverage in on at the club with all the matches LIVE on the big screen so there absolutely is no excuse for not making it up the club for some international match team bonding.
