Oaks vs North Dorset 21/10/07
Against Lychett Minster the boys were trying to maintain the winning start to the season. After five minutes and with good hands through the backs Craig Wright went over for a try. Tommy missing the conversion. This was the catalyst for good pressure rugby and we were encamped in their 22. However, bad decision making by the boys meant that no further points were added and half time came with us winning 5-0. We turned round and as in the first half had the majority of the ball. However, missed tackles let Lychett back into it and they scored a try under the posts, fortunately they missed the kick. Again bad decision making cost us further tries and then with time running out we conceded a penalty on Lychett's five yard line, a draw seemed the outcome. Lychett tapped the penalty and with the assistance of a number of missed tackles they scored the winning try.
Man of the match as chosen by the Lychett team will be announced on Wednesday night.
We must improve before we have them in the cup. Remember, just as we have improved other teams can.
